Free Princess Pattern for Hemstitched Receiving Baby Blankets

Row 1
Single crochet in each hemstitch hole around the blanket. Join with a slip stitch to beginning single crochet. Do not turn. Chain 1.

Row 2
Single crochet in each single crochet all the way around the blanket. Join with a slip stitch to beginning single crochet. Do not turn.

Row 3
Chain 3 counts as first Double Crochet. 1 DC in next 2 SC. *Chain 1, skip next SC, 3 DC in next 3 SC* repeat all the way around the blanket. Join with a slip stitch to beginning single crochet. Do not turn.

Row 4
Single crochet in top 3 chain. *Chain 4. SC in chain 1 space* repeat all the way around the blanket. Join with a slip stitch to beginning SC. Do not turn.

Row 5
Chain 3, *SC in first chain 4 space,10 DC in the next 4 chain space* repeat all the way around the blanket. Join with a slip stitch to beginning DC. Do not turn.

Row 6
Chain 1. *Slip stitch in the next 5 DC. Picot (see crochet instructions that came with kit to learn how to make a picot). SS in the next 5 DC. SS in next SC*. Repeat all the way around the blanket. Join with a slip stitch to beginning SS. Finish off.

Finishing:
Cut four (4) pieces of ribbon, each the length of one (1) side of the blanket plus 8" inches. Thread ribbon through the holes on one side of the blanket, do the same with the other three sides, I used a safety pin and hooked it at the end of the ribbon, this made it easier to run the ribbon through the spaces. Tie a bow at each end of the four corners where the ends of the ribbon meet.
Supplies: We used Offray “Spool O’ Ribbon” brand.

Press entire project. Take a damp wash cloth, place over finished crochet edge and press with a hot iron until picots are flat.
